Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Hako Systems, Inc., the operator of Not Them (“Not Them,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit textnotthem.com, complete onboarding, purchase a subscription, or use the texting service.
Information the product collects
We collect the onboarding choices you submit when you select an offer. Stripe collects your checkout email, mobile number, billing identifiers, and payment details and gives us transaction and subscription records. We also collect message content, screenshots and other attachments you choose to send, consent and opt-out records, and technical data needed to deliver, measure, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
How information is used
Information is used to deliver and personalize conversations, remember the plan you asked us to remember, manage access and billing, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, evaluate product quality, and meet legal obligations.
Screenshots and attachments
Screenshots you send are not public or sent to the people shown in them. They are processed by the providers required to operate Not Them and may be stored with your private conversation so the service can understand and remember the context. Check for phone numbers, addresses, account details, or other information you do not want processed before sending.
How information is shared
We share information with service providers that help us operate messaging, payment processing, cloud hosting, email, analytics, security, and AI processing. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service. We do not sell your private message content.
Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain the plan or context you asked us to remember, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Retention may differ for messages, memories, billing records, and consent records. You may request deletion through support, subject to limited records we must retain for billing, fraud prevention, consent, dispute resolution, security, or law.
Analytics, session replay, and advertising
We use PostHog to understand visits, measure our funnel, and improve the experience. PostHog may record website sessions, including pages viewed, clicks, selected onboarding answers, displayed page content, and how you move through the onboarding and checkout flow. Billing and payment inputs are masked in recordings. We may also use advertising providers to attribute purchases and improve campaigns. We do not send the contents of your private text-message conversations, message attachments, payment details, or free-form relationship history to PostHog or advertising platforms. You can use browser or device controls to limit cookies and similar technologies where available.
Security and location
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Safety and sensitive information
Do not use Not Them as an emergency service. Avoid sending financial account numbers, passwords, or information you do not want processed by the service providers required to answer you.
Your choices
You can opt out of messages by texting STOP, prevent renewal by texting CANCEL, and manage billing online. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of information about you. Contact support@textnotthem.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.
